5 Tips For Making The Most Of A Walking Commute

You can walk to work, you can walk to meet up with friends, and you can walk to run some errands. Although it is easier to walk in densely populated cities, even those in more spread-out areas can walk to the gas station, a local restaurant, or the nearest post office box to drop off your mail.

Follow Traffic Laws

The weather you have to deal with first thing in the morning is often different than the weather you’ll deal with later in the day. Whether it’s cold, rainy, or hot, it’s a good idea to wear layers.

With a few extra minutes, you can spruce up in the bathroom. That might include using towels to wipe away sweat, reapplying deodorant, and zhooshing up your hair. You may also want to consider bringing a change of clothes. That way, you can wear a moisture-wicking shirt during your commute and change when you get there.

A reusable water bottle is the best way to make sure you can take a sip of water whenever you need it, but if you aren’t able to bring along your own water for whatever reason, at least know where you can get a drink on the way. Even if it means making a pit stop at a shopping center to drink from a drinking fountain.
