Juicing vs. Blending: Which One Is Better?

It is a well-stated fact that including fruits and vegetables in your diet does infinite wonders to your health and nourishment. Juicing is a method that extracts water and nutrients from the fruit and discards the soluble fiber. Smoothies tend to be more filling, because of the inclusion of fiber, making them equal to a whole meal or a snack.


Juices and smoothies both require different equipment. A juicer have blades that grates and squeezes the juice out of the produce meanwhile a blender having the same blades fuses all the ingredients together. The pulp in a juice is separated out and the pulp in a smoothie stays in and makes it thicker.

So when you remove all the fiber from the juice, the liquid is absorbed quickly in your body, creating a rapid spike in your blood sugar. This sudden increase can cause unstable sugar levels and mood swings. On the other hand, when you blend the fiber, it creates an even release of nutrients in the blood therefore avoiding any rapid ups and downs of your blood sugar level.

However, whether you blend or prepare a juice, a part of the fiber remains in the drink as both soluble and insoluble.

On the other hand, if you have an objective of maintaining your health, blending will be a good choice. Combining juices with green vegetables is a safe way to stay fit and in shape.
